Wearing brown while feeling blue

Yeah, that's right.  Feelin' blue.  *sigh*

lol JK!  =0P

I just thought that would be a cute title for this post.  MUWAhahah.....   <-- that's my evil laugh 'case you can't tell...

anyhoo.  This post is all about my brown polishes.  Well, some of them anyway.

Fall is fast approaching and if you're like me, you will reach for brown polish more than once as the seasons change.  I have a gorgeous shimmery drug store brown to show you and a comp between a drug store polish and an OPI.  Let's get started!

First up is one of the Revlon Top Speed polishes that came out a while back.  This one is Espresso.

Revlon Top Speed Espresso

It's a very nice medium to dark brown with shimmer I'd say.  When I first picked it up I didn't notice the shimmer.  Not until I opened up the bottle.  But once I realized it was there I was thrilled!   'Cause how often do you find a brown with shimmer?  *hint* NEVER!  ahaha.  oh, well... once anyway!

Application on this beast was a PURE PLEASURE! Almost a one-coater, smooth, and velvety soft.  MMMmm....  love this one!

Next up is a comparison!

A long time ago I took these pix comparing OPI You Don't Know Jacques with Sonia Kashuk Tauped.  So this is me finally posting them for you guys! lol
Both are still readily available so it's still relevant!  I swear!

Comparison between OPI YDKJ and SK Tauped

L-R: YDKJ, Tauped, YDKJ, Tauped

You Don't Know Jacques vs Tauped
I think the photos pretty clearly illustrate the difference between the two. YDKJ is clearly darker, but they are sister polishes.  In real life the difference is not as pronounced as in the pix- but in very bright light this is what you'd see.

In conclusion, I like YDKJ better.  Tauped is a very similar polish and a great option for people who can't (or won't) get their hands on the OPI.  Plus SK polish is cheaper at $5 per bottle at Target vs $8.50 for the OPI.  ;)
I will say I like the formula on the OPI better, but that pro-wide brush gives me trouble sometimes.  It's funny- sometimes I can get away with using the pro-wide and need only minimal cleanup.  Other times, though, it feels super fumbly and gets polish every where.

WHERE TO BUY LYNNDERELLA POLISH

Ok guys. I get SO MANY EMAILS AND COMMENTS asking me where to get Lynnderella polishes. And I totally understand why! But it's gotten so overwhelming to answer you all individually. I don't have time! lol

Lynn has her own blog (and blogsales) here.

And Llarowe sells her stuff here.

So go forth and buy tons of it! And make sure to tell 'em I sent ya!
Thanks for understanding! Lacquerish =0)
